Winnipeg’s Newcomer Welcome Fair brought together newcomers, settlement organizations, employers and community groups for a day of culture.
The event highlighted the importance of helping newcomers access resources, explore employment opportunities and develop a sense of belonging. Maysoun Darweesh, Executive Director of the Winnipeg Initiative for Refugees, shared how the organization supports newcomer youth, children and refugee families as they build new lives in Winnipeg.
